This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit our WordPress/WooCommerce website, create an account, place an order, submit a review or contact us. Read it together with our Terms and Conditions. Third-party websites and services have their own privacy policies.
SECTION 1 – INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Information you provide may include your name, email address, telephone number, billing and delivery addresses, delivery directions, selected products and sizes, order details, account details, reviews, enquiries and correspondence. If you request an exchange or report a problem, we may receive proof of purchase and photographs or other information relevant to resolving it.
When you use the website, our website and hosting systems may process technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, timestamps, cookies and security logs. The information recorded depends on the features you use and the hosting systems involved.
You can check out as a guest. Creating an account is optional. Account authentication information is managed by WordPress; do not email us your password. If you provide another person’s contact or delivery details, make sure you have permission to do so.
No live payment gateway is currently enabled. Once a payment provider is introduced, we will update this policy to explain its processing and the transaction information received by the store. Do not send card details, banking credentials or other payment secrets by email.
SECTION 2 – HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We use relevant information to maintain your basket and optional account; process and communicate about orders; check availability; arrange delivery; handle enquiries, exchanges, complaints and refunds; maintain business records; protect the website and prevent fraud; and meet applicable legal obligations.
Order and service communications are separate from promotional messages. We will not treat an order or enquiry as an automatic subscription to marketing. If you choose to receive promotional messages, you may withdraw that choice or unsubscribe without stopping necessary communications about an existing order. We use MailPoet to manage optional email subscriptions. If you sign up through our website or select the marketing checkbox at checkout, we record your email address and subscription status so we can manage your choice. We ask you to confirm your subscription before receiving marketing emails. You can unsubscribe using the link in our marketing emails or contact trinitrunks@gmail.com.
Reviews and other content you submit for publication may be visible to other visitors with the name or details shown in the submission. Do not include private contact, payment or other sensitive information in a public review. Our Terms and Conditions explain the licence applicable to voluntary submissions.
SECTION 3 – COOKIES AND WEBSITE TECHNOLOGY
WordPress and WooCommerce use cookies and similar website functions to support logins, security, baskets and customer sessions. WooCommerce’s basket and session cookies include woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart and wp_woocommerce_session_. Session cookies help the store recognise your basket as you navigate.
You may manage cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent account, basket or checkout features from working correctly. See WooCommerce’s cookie information for further details.
The current build does not use Shopify’s cross-store advertising services. If optional analytics or advertising tools are introduced, we will update the information provided and offer appropriate choices before using them where required.
SECTION 4 – WHO RECEIVES INFORMATION
We share information where necessary to operate the store and provide the service requested. The website uses WordPress and WooCommerce and is hosted through Namecheap EasyWP. Hosting and technical service providers may process website information, order records and logs to provide hosting, security and support. Our email service processes messages sent to trinitrunks@gmail.com and replies to your enquiries.
For delivery, we provide oDeliver with the information needed to deliver your order, such as your name, delivery address, telephone number, email where needed, delivery instructions and relevant shipment details. oDeliver may contact you and record delivery tracking or proof of delivery. Its own Privacy Policy explains its handling of delivery information, including delivery records and service providers.
We may disclose relevant information to advisers, authorities or other recipients where reasonably necessary to meet legal obligations, investigate fraud, resolve disputes or protect legal rights. If the business is transferred or restructured, relevant information may be transferred subject to applicable law and appropriate notice or safeguards.
We do not sell customer information or share it for Shopify’s cross-merchant advertising. A future payment gateway or other material new service will be described before launch or use, as applicable.
SECTION 5 – INTERNATIONAL PROCESSING
Website hosting, email and other service providers may process or store information outside Trinidad and Tobago. Applicable protections depend on the provider, location and law. We seek appropriate protection for information handled on our behalf. This policy does not claim a particular storage country or contractual transfer mechanism that has not been verified.
SECTION 6 – RETENTION
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including account and order services, accounting and other legal obligations, security, disputes and enforcement of agreements. The appropriate period depends on the type of record and the relevant obligation. Information is deleted or anonymised when it is no longer needed, subject to the practical operation of backups and lawful retention requirements.
Closing an account or requesting deletion does not necessarily remove records we must retain to meet legal obligations or resolve an existing dispute. We will explain relevant limits when responding to a request.
SECTION 7 – PRIVACY REQUESTS AND CHOICES
Email trinitrunks@gmail.com to ask about information we hold about you, request access or correction, request deletion where applicable, withdraw an optional marketing choice, or raise a privacy concern. Describe the request and include enough information to identify the relevant account or order. Do not send your password or payment credentials.
We may request reasonable verification of identity or authority before releasing information or acting on a request. Requests are handled in accordance with applicable law, including any legal retention requirements and limits protecting other people’s information. We aim to respond promptly and explain any further information, time or limitations involved.
Please contact us first if you have a concern so we can investigate and respond. This does not affect any right you may have to seek advice or complain to an appropriate authority under applicable law.
SECTION 8 – CHILDREN
Our store sells children’s trunks, but purchases and accounts are intended to be managed by adults or with a parent or legal guardian’s permission. We do not knowingly seek personal information directly from children without appropriate permission. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information that should be reviewed or removed.
SECTION 9 – SECURITY AND EXTERNAL LINKS
We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no website, email service or method of storage can guarantee complete security. Keep your account password secure, use an appropriate device, and contact us if you suspect misuse of your account.
Links to Instagram, courier services and other third-party websites lead to services we do not control. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them. Please review those policies before sharing information there.
SECTION 10 – POLICY CHANGES AND CONTACT
We may update this policy when our operations, technology or legal obligations change. The revision date will be updated, and material changes will be communicated where required by law.
